Founded in 1932 by Thomas J. Swan, Sr., Emerson Swan is one of the largest manufacturers’ representative organizations in the United States. Starting off as a representative organization for pipe, valves and fittings for the plumbing industry, the company has grown to include such products as boilers, solar collectors, water heaters, kitchen & bath fixtures and heat distribution products.
Emerson Swan, with its strong financial base, has cultivated an enviable position within the industry. Our company is a technical sales and marketing agency as well as a stocking location for those manufacturers in need of local warehousing and inventory management. Our reputation and resources have enabled us to attract and keep an experienced, technically proficient and highly incentivized sales force.
Emerson, Swan and Goodyear Was Established
Amidst the heart of the Great Depression, Thomas J. Swan and two business partners established Emerson, Swan and Goodyear, a manufacturer’s representative business based in Boston, MA.
Emerson Swan Is Born
The company changes its name to Emerson Swan, Inc.

Thomas J. Swan acquires 100% ownership of Emerson Swan, Inc.
The 2nd Generation Takes Over
