This seminar begins with the basic concept of heat transfer and delves into how radiant heating actually works. The features and benefits of radiant floor heating will be discussed to aid the contractor in selling radiant to the homeowner. The characteristics of various types of tubing will be illustrated along with their applications. Radiant applications such as slab, staple-up, snow melting and electric floor warming will be covered.
The afternoon will concentrate on basic hydronic principles and the difference between standard hydronic systems and radiant systems will be illustrated. The seminar closes with various methods of controlling the radiant heating system using outdoor reset, variable speed pumps and priority zoning controls.
